Preparation
Instructions for obtaining the template can be found here. (Read this first before continuing reading the guidelines)
All test images required for feature testing (e.g., Base Layer Background Image) are stored in Nextcloud under the "Photos" directory of the test user account.
If you need to log in to Nextcloud, use "Anmelden mit Keycloak" and the test user credentials from testusers.md.
To add new images for the test user, upload them to Nextcloud via the "Dateien" menu under "Photos".
Workflow
Use test user "testuser_t@permaplant.net" listed in testusers.md.
This account already has all necessary materials for testing.
Some test cases specify which images are needed for that particular test.
Any deviation to the test case must be documented and linked to an issue in the test case notes.
Before creating new issues, check for existing reports in both previous test results and GitLab to avoid duplicates.
When you find an issue, try to reproduce it in another browser to check for browser-specific problems.
If you find any errors in the test cases, please amend them straight away.
After completing your tests, write a short test closure report summarizing your findings and any issues encountered.
Mobile
Manual mobile tests are currently limited to the following devices:
- OnePlus 5T (6.01", 1080x2160)
- Samsung Galaxy A33 5G (6.2", 1080x2400)
- Generic Windows Tablet (10.1", 1920x1200)
in both portrait and landscape mode.
